ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: ALEXIS DANIELLE

The Rouge Collection is excited to highlight one Baton Rouge’s many rising stars, Alexis Danielle!

Alexis Danielle, 18-year-old singer/ actress and Baton Rouge native, has been singing since the age of 5 and has years of advice to give. “My advice to other young singers would be to keep God first and constantly find ways to improve your gift,” she says empathically. “Never sit idle on your talent. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for somebody telling me to keep pushing and trying to find a way to better yourself and better the world with the gift God has given!”

Alexis Danielle fully embraces that. She was a Top 80 finalist on Season 14 of American Idol and most recently was at the Essence Festival 2015. “I was actually a part of the Next Gospel Superstar brought by TV One on the Wal-Mart stage and a competition by [creative director for Beyoncé] Frank Gatson and Kelly Rowland. I actually heard about both of these through social media.”

“I was preparing to go to Essence [Festival] and I knew that I wanted my voice to be heard in some way during that weekend. I had no clue how it was going to happen, but I knew that it was going to. One day I was scrolling through Instagram and saw a flyer for auditions and I knew that those were going to be my opportunities to accomplish what I set out to do!”

When asked what would she like to see, she humbly responds, “First off, I’m so grateful that I’m able to participate in and have opportunities like these! From these opportunities I’m hoping to learn more about myself as a developing artist, to be able to start creating a greater name for myself that will eventually allow me to perform on a greater platform and ultimately to share my gift and inspire others!”
