Put You First
There was a time when exhaustion was a badge of honor. Society gave accolades for overworking, underrestiby, giving from lack, and running on fumes. But after generations of folks running ragged, looking worn, and feeling overwhelmed, science and lived experience has proven that stress kills. I often give the adage that if you fell died today or tomorrow having given all you got, never taking a break, collapsing on duty, folks would be sad, maybe have a memorial, maybe name an office after you or hang a plaque. But you’re still dead. Nobody wins if you’re dead. Especially you.
We have to normalize rest And it starts with you. Put you first.
