30 Things In 30 Years: Stand Up Straight
In the age of slouching and sagging, there is still something to be said of a man who sits up straight. Standing and sitting up is very symbolic too. Hunters stand up straight. Kings stand up straight. Drum majors stand up straight. When did slouching and hanging over become the thing? Maybe it’s my years as a violinist and flautist or typist or a high-society wannabe (ha!), either way, I’ve always noticed that good posture gets you noticed. Squared shoulders speak volumes for an individual. Standing up straight commands attention, plus it’s better for you—better for your muscles, your breathing, your looks.
