30 Things in 30 Years: Faith

So one of my features will be to showcase 30 things I have learned in thirty years. Many of us know 30 is a pivotal age for most anybody, but it’s important to remember that if we're not learning some things along the way, what are we doing? My brothers both told me that they have learned a lot from me and wanted to know how did I “learn so much.” And my honest response was “just life.” And, as much as I hate clichés, I couldn’t have said it any other way.

There’s an old phrase that says, “If you get from point A to point B and don’t know how you got there, you’re still lost.” With that said, for the next 30 days I will be sharing--

30 things I’ve learned in 30 years

1. The importance of faith

Now this isn’t the stereotypical “just have faith” “only believe” type of spiel. But then again, it is. The first thing to making things happen, to having good people in your life, to having good things in your life is to believe it. How is it that you will have anything if you don’t expect it? And then, we shouldn’t be surprised when it does come. Think about it, you feed anything poison, it’s bound to die. Some of us draw faith from a Higher Power, some from communal fellowship, some from silent and still meditation. Whatever you see fit, think on some good things and know it’s coming!

More tomorrow!
